Celebrities and their culture plays a bigger role in our lives than ever before. In fact the entire past decade was dominated by glossy magazines. This millennium has so far seen the advent of celebrity.Not content with appearing in every magazine you read, TV show you watch and paper which professes to report news, they’re all making personal appearances.
Seriously, celebrities really are everywhere. And I don’t just mean the leftovers from obscure 1990s boybands.People who are famous for more than just being famous are doing it too. Almost anyone is available for bookings.
I confess I didn’t see this trend coming. I had naively assumed that celebrities were too busy to attend parties and supermarket opening with us mere mortals. How wrong I was. I wonder if the recession is behind this surge in personal appearances; the appearer does charge a fee after all. Or maybe a desire to be seen in the most clubs is a source of rivalry for celebrities.
However, not all celebrities can be the same. Some celebrities do have positive thigns to contribute. I’m talking about people famous for being good at acting, or cooking, or intelligent.These celebrities have something to offer at their personal appearances. Some celebrities do use their personal appearances to positively influence others, by encouraging people to support charity for examples. Or perhaps they relish the opportunity to get to know the people who support them.
Stereotypically, personal appearances are all about attractive bimbos visiting clubs. There’s nothing wrong per se with using appearances like that to promote businesses.However, there is so much more than simple promotion that can be achieved through personal appearances. Some celebrities have more to say than we realise and feel strongly about major issues.Maybe you’re looking for a simple personal appearance to fill your club next Saturday; good for you, I’m sure it’ll help. But don’t turn you back on celebrity appearances altogether.Scratch the surface and you might find a celebrity appearance can really boost your cause.
